No trip to the Amazon is complete without seeing the unique flora and fauna that exist only in this part of the world. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore the incredible Flor de Loto Nature Reserve. This natural sanctuary offers a variety of activities: from birdwatching and artisanal fishing to kayaking, jungle hikes, and the chance to admire one of the Amazon’s most iconic plants—the Victoria Regia water lily, a true natural wonder.
Prepare for a full-day adventure deep in the Amazon jungle. You’ll explore the Flor de Loto Nature Reserve and learn about the vital ecological role the Amazon plays in the world. Depending on the season, you’ll either hike through the jungle or navigate the flooded forest by kayak to reach the reserve. Once there, enjoy a variety of immersive activities and discover the incredible Victoria Regia water lily. You’ll also have time to take a refreshing swim or relax in a hammock before heading back.
Your adventure begins when our local guide picks you up and takes you just outside of Leticia to begin the journey to the reserve.
From June to December (dry season), you’ll hike to the reserve, passing through local communities and soaking in the jungle scenery. From January to May (flood season), you’ll glide through the flooded forest on a traditional raft or kayak before arriving at your destination.
Once at the reserve, take part in a variety of activities including birdwatching, artisanal fishing, kayaking, and hiking. Your guide will lead you through the lake where the majestic Victoria Regia water lilies bloom and explain why this iconic plant is such a crucial part of the Amazonian ecosystem. Enjoy a traditional Amazonian lunch, cool off with a swim, and rest in a hammock before wrapping up the experience.
After the tour, you’ll hike or kayak back to the starting point, and your guide will drive you back to your hotel in Leticia.
We recommend wearing long sleeves and long pants, as well as using repellent, this way you will avoid getting bitten by mosquitos or other insects. A hat or a cap and sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun is advisable too. As you will be deep in the rainforest, you should bring waterproof clothing.

South America's Amazonas contains nearly a third of all the tropical rainforests left on Earth. It covers 1% of the planet’s surface but is home to approximately 10% of all the wildlife species known to man. If you are lucky, you will enjoy the view of macaws, toucans, freshwater dolphins, howler monkeys, and jaguars.
