Discover the very another side of Medellín once you go all over the comunas. Take part in this integrated Arví Park and waterfalls tour and let yourself be amazed by breathtaking viewpoints and lots of nature at Arví Park. Take the cable car from Santo Domingo and explore the contrasts between this natural park and the comunas’ history, and learn about the city while breathing pure oxygen. Come and experience diversity with us!
If you can have the best of both sides of the city, why not do it? This is one of the best tours you can take when in Medellín as it brings together nature, city, art, and history. In this 6-hour tour, you will learn about the commuting system in Medellín which is one of the reasons for being one of the most innovative cities worldwide.
First, the guide will pick you up at the hotel and he will take you to the cable car station that takes us to a comuna viewpoint. Here you will see some areas of the city from the top.
Thereafter, you’ll head back to Santo Domingo station to take again the cable car but this time heading to the mountains. After a 15 minutes ride, you will get to Arví station, a natural reservoir.
Arví park, on top of the eastern hills of the Medellín Valley, is a natural wonder. It is important to mention many tourists go to this place on their own, but they lose most of it, because, due to its largeness, they usually don't know where to walk, where the places are, or how to move through the mountains. But we got you covered.
Once here, we’ll walk along its various indigenous paths, creeks, and natural pools, and we will learn its history and importance. Birdwatching is a common activity in this park, as it is home to hundreds of species, both, fauna and flora. And you will have time to enjoy the waterfalls, and even swim for a while if possible.
After walking for a couple of hours on this paradise, you’ll head back to the station and then back again to your hotel. Give yourself the chance to mix and discover best of both great sides of this warm city.
The most advisable thing is that you wear fresh clothing and a light jacket in case the day gets chill: cotton t-shirts, comfortable sneakers, sunglasses, and a cap are the most used items of clothing for this activity. We also recommend bringing extra clothes in case you want to get wet in the waterfalls.
The weather in Medellín tends to be warm but it may change during the day. Average temperature is between 23°C and 30°C. Once in the park, the temperature might get cooler, so you can bring a jacket.
Most part of the tour takes places in the natural reservoir in Arví Park. There is a short stop at a comuna’s viewpoint, but the tour does not go around the comunas. It is mainly a natural tour.
The Arví Park is closed on Mondays. You can book this tour any other day of the week.
