Our expert tour guide will take you to Puerto Nariño to hop on a boat towards Lake Tarapoto, where you’ll have the fortune to be surrounded by wild nature. Spend the night in a cabin right by the lake, then wake up early to return to Puerto Nariño to finish this adventure in the best way: climbing the lookout tower in Puerto Nariño for a gorgeous panoramic view of the Amazon River and jungle.
Visiting Colombia’s Amazonas is definitely the best way to start your adventure in the world’s lung. With us you will discover a new side of Colombia: places far away from cities, where indigenous communities live in a sacred communion with the nature and protect it. If you’re up to it, you can also enjoy a night safari and see the jungle like no other person would. The journey will start at Leticia’s airport. After you pay the tourism tax, you will meet one of our local guide who will pick you up and take you to the port where the boat to Puerto Nariño will be waiting. You will make a stop on the Peruvian Amazonas to visit an indigenous community. You will also visit a natural reservoir to see the marvelous Victoria Regia, Isla de los Micos (Monkey Island) and the Tikuna indigenous community. Then take the boat ride to Lake Tarapoto, enter the small indigenous community of Tarapoto, and after lunch enjoying a delightful swim and as the sun sets in the jungle.
Overnight in a cabin by Lake Tarapoto, and the next day get ready to return to Puerto Nariño to visit Alto del Águila viewpoint to feed wild monkeys and see macaws. Finish the day with an outstanding panoramic view of the Amazon River and jungle. Then, you’ll be taken back to Leticia to finish your trip.
