Give yourself the chance of doing something different. Not far from Medellin, there is hidden Colombian wonder. Join us on this trip and visit this beautiful Rio Claro Canyon, a destination full of lush nature, but also activities such as rafting, canopy, climbing the via ferrata, or the adventure of crossing the Cave of the Guacharos (birds’ cave). It is the perfect place to get out of the routine and venture into the greenery landscapes.

In this full day tour our guide and the driver will pick you up from your hotel to take you outside Medellín to the natural reservoir of Rio Claro to start the adventure. Once here, you will be taken along the main sites of the park so you can not only enjoy the landscapes, but the fun activities offered.
Day will be all yours to visit the park, as you will have the chance to explore on your own, be part of some hiking, birdwatching and sports activities. Our guide will also give you the best recommendation on food to have a delicious traditional lunch. This are some of the activities available and included during the tour:
a) Rafting: Navigate the river rapids in an inflatable boat to end in a majestic marble vault.
b) Canopy: Feel the vertigo of flying through the air suspended by a cable, crossing from one platform to another by a route traced over the treetops and the river bed. Pure adrenaline!
Of course, safety implements such as floaters and helmets will be handed.
After spending the whole day among beautiful sceneries, trekking, swimming or just relaxing, you will head back to Medellin and your hotel and we will call it a day. However, whether you are a true adventurer or not, there are plenty of plans to do, so don’t worry about anything, we will make sure you have the best experience.
The most advisable thing is that you wear fresh clothing: cotton t-shirts, sneakers, sunglasses, and a cap are the most used items of clothing for this activity. We also recommend bringing swimsuit, towel and extra clothes, as some of the activities are in water.
The weather in this area tends to be warm but it may change during the day. Average temperature is between 23°C and 30°C. Take into account that you will be in the nature and near water, so the weather can get humid.
This tour takes place outside Medellín, in the natural reservoir of Río Claro. This park is a natural patrimony as it is home to many fauna and flora species. Besides it is a perfect place to do outdoor activities in the middle of the forest.
Rio Claro is located in the Colombian department of Antioquia, in a region known as the middle basin of the Magdalena River.
If you want to be part of the activities in the park you do not need to have previous experience, just to be in good health. All the safety equipment will be handed once in the park and the staff will be in charge of giving you recommendations and making sure that you are safe along the activities.
