Description

Not everything is about coffee and palm trees. Quindío and its surroundings are way more than that. Let us prove it by walking with you to a short waterfall hiding between forest and tunnels.

The departure can be from Pereira, Armenia, Salento or Finlandia, where our guide will meet you and give you all the recommendations for the day.

Hike through train roads, mud roads and old tunnels in this part of the forest. Be sure to have your cellphone fully charged, we know you’ll want to take pictures of the amazing nature. And, if you suddenly get caught by the mists and winds, don’t worry about it, that’s how weather tends to be, and it will only make the experience feel even more magical.

Deeper inside we will find Santa Rita waterfall, a short waterfall of 20 mts, but surrounded by forest that, combine it with the unconventional hike, makes you feel that you are in a magical place. Take in the sight and rest your feet, before leaving you will get a treat! Panela with Cheese for getting your strength back.

Then we’ll head to Salento to make a walking tour where you will see the predominance of adobe and mud houses with colorful wooden balconies and gates decorated with flowers. On your walk you will be able to appreciate the authentic architecture of the traditional coffee towns from the beginning of the 20th century. Also, you will find some colorful stairs that take you to one of the viewpoints of Salento, the viewpoint of Alto de la Cruz. From the viewpoint you will be able to see a large part of the town and its church, and if you are lucky, you will be able to see part of Armenia and the mountains of Los Nevados National Natural Park.
