The Bogota biking tour offers a new perspective of the Capital. Some people say the best way to see a city is from above. We believe the best way to feel a city is on a bike, and Bogotá is a treat to explore on two wheels. Our local guide will lead you safely through its labyrinth of vibrant streets that are packed with history.
First, you will know La Candelaria historical neighborhood. Then the Bogota biking tour will lead you to Independence Park, Parkway Boulevard, and Bolivar Square. We aim to show you how the center of the city connects with other areas not so far from each other. So, enjoy a little exercise while learning and exploring the capital.
Walking just doesn't do justice to a city as big and varied as Bogotá, so hop on and join us in this bike tour through Bogotá’s history, development and culture.
Bogotá is packed full of history. That’s why this 4-hour private tour is designed to show a bigger face of this massive city and its more than 500 years of history.
This trip will start when our local guide picks you up at the hotel. You will be headed to La Candelaria and Chorro de Quevedo Square in downtown. You will ride the bikes there and begin the adventure.
First you will visit the city’s founding three plazas to understand how the city has changed over time and learn how each place has symbolically transformed over time. Then, join us at Seventh Avenue, the commercial lifeline that connects north and south. It was originally an important salt road in indigenous times, it now gathers Colombians of all walks of life in trade, culture, politics, and protests.
We’ll then go to Independence Park: the oldest in the city. Around it, Bogotá’s cosmopolitanism can be better explored through the adjacent Planetarium, Santamaría Bullring, Modern Art Museum and surrounding neighborhoods. Science, art, history, and culture clash and mingle in this often-controversial space.
Then, visit the National Park, half forest-reservoir, half-cultural hub and rest while tasting some fruits and exotic flavors. Once ready to continue you will get to Parkway, Bogotá’s first boulevard and another of its cultural and artistic hubs. From there you will be getting back to downtown.
When in La Candelaria again, you will finish the tour by having a refreshing traditional drink called aguapanela at a place where you will also get to plant a tree seed.
You will call it a day after the guide takes you back to your hotel.
Challenge yourself by trying something different this time. We will be waiting for you!
